Desigualdades habitacionales y representación política en distritos electorales heterogéneos: un análisis comparativo de España y Reino Unido
This poster presents the initial design of a comparative research project examining the relationship between housing market inequalities and political representation in Spain and the United Kingdom. The project investigates whether housing-related factors, such as rental prices, housing affordability, and local market conditions, shape electoral preferences and political participation at the municipal level. The research combines municipal-level panel data with electoral, socioeconomic, demographic, and housing market indicators to analyze voting patterns. The first work package focuses on the evolution of rental prices and right-wing voting, using descriptive analysis, clustering techniques, and spatial predictive models. Future stages of the project will examine parliamentary responses to housing issues through natural language processing (NLP) and network analysis, as well as evaluate housing policy allocation and its implications for territorial equity.
